Bangus Capital web browsers increasing
CYBER visitors to the Bangus Capital of the World’s website have dramatically increased since February, surpassing even the website visits recorded by the financial capital of the Philippines – Makati.
When the city’s website went online last October, it registered 671 (0.763%) visits with an estimate of 22 requests per day. During the month on November, the request climbed to 1,213 (1.380%), with approximately 40 daily requests.
Visits at the website slightly declined last December with 942 (1.072%), but this went up as January recorded 224 daily visits with a total of 6,083 (79.026%) requests for the said month.
This February, the number of request at Dagupan’s website zoomed up to a total of 69,466 (79.026%) visits with an estimate of 2,395 daily requests. For the period March 1 to 3, there were already 8,673 requests in only three days, recording more than 2,000 visits per day.
The request for Dagupan’s web page in less than six months has reached a high mark of 87,903.
This outcome bested the number of requests in Makati’s website, which registered only 2,000 visits every month. Dagupan likewise surpassed the number of downloads of Makati. Dagupan’s website holds 128 downloads for its project profiles, whereas Makati has 113 downloads for its service and request forms.
The dramatic increase in the number of request in Dagupan’s web page according to City Hall’s ICT Champion Gideon Ymasa is primarily due to the major feat of the city as the new record holder of the World’s Longest Barbecue in the Guinness World Records.
“The Guinness record has stirred interest and curiosity among cyber users,” Ymasa said.
The directory on the images of the city is the most visited section in the website with 45,774 requests, followed by the root directory, 17,286; photo gallery, 8923; tourism, 6516; investments, 2520; city’s profile, 2506; services, 1563; guest book, 1419; news, 673; polls, 361; projects, 128; departments, 111; moving images, 95; and data base directory, 21.
Among the internet browsers which logged in to the city’s web page were: Microsoft Internet Explorer, Mozilla, Java 1.1, Microsoft URL Control-6.00.8862, Googlebot, Opera, msnbot, Web TV, la archiver, DualProxy, Java 1.3.1_9, Java 1.3.1_01, and Scooter.
