Lim gives trikes until May 31 to renew stickers
By Dino R. Zabala

DAGUPAN City Mayor Benjamin S. Lim Wednesday approved the request of the United Tricycle Operators and Drivers Association (Utoda) led by Magdalena L. Valdez to extend the deadline for sticker renewal and acquisition.

Lim gave the tricycle operators and drivers until May 31 to process their needed documents, including mayor's permit, before they would be allowed to operate their respective units. He also asked Utoda member to secure stickers from the city hall.

After the May 31, 2004 deadline, the mayor said all tricycles with no 2004 decals will be impounded and the operators have to pay the corresponding penalties based on the provisions stated in the City Traffic Ordinance 1748-2002.

Lim directed Public Order and Safety Office (Poso) chief Robert M. Erfe-Mejia to strictly monitor the tricycles after the deadline.

Mejia, for his part, said his traffic enforcers would apprehend drivers who violate any of the city's traffic rules and regulations.
