Another money-delivery man robbed in Rosales
ROSALES -- Another employee of a door-to-door delivery firm engaged in money remittance was held up last Sunday in Barangay Cabalaoan Sur here.
Jimmy Marquez, 24, employee of Gemini Exchange International and resident of Barangay Camanggaan West, Moncada, Tarlac, said the robbers carted away the P34,000 in cash he was about to deliver.
Marquez, aboard a Suzuki motorcycle, was on the way to Tarlac to deliver money remittances when five men aboard two 155 motorcycles cut his path, causing him to fall on the ground.
At this juncture, the thieves poked him a gun and threatened to kill him if he would not give the money.
The robbers drove off after getting the money.
The case of Marquez was the second holdup incident wherein employees of the money-delivery firm were involved. The first of which happened in Bayambang town on December 12.
But Reynald Manzano, 45, also of Gemini Exchange International based in Urdaneta City, reported the incident to the Basista Police Office although he was held up in Barangay Malimpuec, Bayambang.
Police investigators theorized that the robbers could have been monitoring the door-to-door delivery establishment. They trailed the two victims and executed the holdup in an area where there were very few people.
They also believed that the robbers who held up Manzano were the same people who robbed Marquez of the money remittances. (FPM)
