PB to hold sessions during campaign period

LINGAYEN -- The Pangasinan Provincial Board (PB) will conduct sessions every Friday even in the campaign period.

PB Majority Floor Leader John Agerico Rosario said it is important that sessions be held as there are many ordinances from component municipalities and cities in Pangasinan that have to be approved and passed by the PB.

"However, in view of the significance of the first day of campaign (on March 30, which happens to be a Friday), as well as, the celebration of the Holy Week, there will be no session on the two succeeding Fridays," he said.

Rosario said their regular session will resume on April 13.

He said in view of the signing by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo of the P1.3 trillion national budget for 2007, they are expecting that additional Internal Revenue Allotment (IRA) will be released to the province.

He asked the PB members to be present on April 13 for the passage of the province's supplemental budget.

To ensure the approval of all pending budget ordinances from the different localities in Pangasinan, Rosario moved that the secretariat be directed to coordinate with the Local Finance Committee and Provincial Legal Office for them to submit their reports to the PB on all items referred to them for approval.
