The delegates coming from the provinces of Pangasinan, La Union, Ilocos Sur, and Ilocos Norte were welcomed by San Carlos Mayor Julier Resuello and Prisaa-Ilocos president and National Board of Trustees co-chairman Gonzalo Duque.

Assisting in the ceremony were Prisaa regional executive director Philamer Celi, Prisaa San Carlos City chapter chairman, and Ilocos region vice president Arturo de Veyra, San Carlos City Parish priest Fr. Jaime Quinto, and San Carlos City sports coordinator Federico Lopez Jr.

Competitions include basketball, lawn tennis, chess, sepak takraw, swimming, badminton, softball, table tennis, taekwondo, karatedo, and volleyball.

Sports venues are the City Sports Dome at the Central II Elementary School, gymnasium and auditorium at the city plaza, sports complex at the Virgen Milagrosa University Foundation, swimming pool and amphitheatre at the Central I Elementary School, and San Carlos College gymnasium.

A selection and coronation of a Mutya ng Prisaa, a vocal solo singing contest, and a fellowship social banquet spice the sports event.

Resuello noted that the city has become a favorite sports venue in Region 1.

Last February, the city hosted the Ilocos Region Athletic Association (IRAA). (LCMY/Sunnex)
