Tuesday, December 23, 2008 Pangasinan named best LGU in Ilocos
LINGAYEN -- The Regional Project Monitoring and Evaluation System (RPMES) has proclaimed Pangasinan as the best local government unit (LGU) in Ilocos in the implementation of projects supportive of the Millennium Development Goals.
The proclamation was based on the recommendations of the inter-agency Technical Working Group of the RPMES.
The Regional Development Council (RDC) gave the award Thursday morning during its fourth quarter meeting held at the La Union Provincial Capitol.
Pangasinan bested the provinces of La Union, Ilocos Sur, and Ilocos Norte.
The award was aimed at recognizing government entities that have exemplified outstanding implementation of key programs and projects.
Governor Amado Espino Jr. thanked the regional validators for the citation.
He said the award is a fruit of the labor of the entire province that can be proven by the accomplishments of the Provincial Government in his first year of tenure.
The recognition, according to him, will serve as an added inspiration for him to further boost the province into greater heights.
Espino further said the 10-point development thrust of the Provincial Government is geared towards the transformation of Pangasinan into a Corridor of Growth in North Luzon. This will benefit the Pangasinenses. (LCMY/Sunnex)
