Robbery behind Tetuan shooting
By R.G. Antonet A. Go

THE police suspects that the possible motive in the shooting of a businessman last Monday evening at Tetuan could be robbery.

Trader Julius Domingo 40 years of age and a stall owner at Sta. Cruz Public market was shot by two of three gunmen last Monday night.

Domingo was shot along Marquez Drive Barangay Tetuan.

The victim's nephew who was wounded in the shooting was identified by the police as Gerald Domingo 18 years of age and a resident of the same place.

The victims were rushed to the Western Mindanao Medical Center for treatment of their wounds.

However, Julius died on arrival at the hospital while Gerald sustained wounds on both legs.

Investigator of the case SPO1 Abraham Rojas said, "I suspect that the motif of the said shooting might be Hold-Up".

"The suspects think that the said businessman came from his store at the public market and brought with him the money".

Initial investigation disclosed by Tetuan Police Station 6 that the victims were aboard on a single motorcycle, on their way home.

When they reached a dimly lit portion of the road two unidentified suspects shot them without any reason while the other one served as the driver of the motorcycle.

The three suspects fled on board their motorbike to unknown direction.

Recovered from the crime scene were five empty shells of 380 and 9mm pistols.
