Mayor suspends all city works
By Jess Alcoran

MAYOR Maria Clara Lobregat has suspended the implementation of all city projects for the current year pending a review of contracts authorized or approved for such undertaking.

The City's Pre-Qualification Bids and Awards Committee (Pbac) will now scrutinize all projects awarded to contractors by public bidding or negotiated contracts to see to it that Pbac rules are being followed to the letter.

Lobregat said the city is now cautious in the implementation of infrastructure projects. She said that every rule has to be followed by the Pbac.

Councilor Isabelle Climaco, chairman of the committee on appropriations, earlier question the implementation of several infrastructure projects of the city, although they have already been approved by the City Council.
