Anti-rabies vaccine now available

THE City Health Office (CHO) has received its supply of anti-rabies vaccines but cannot give the full dose to indigent rabies victims in the city.

City Health Officer Dr. Rodel Agbulos said one brand of vaccine cost P5,000 per vial while the cheaper ones cost P1,800.

However, Dr. Agbulos said the vaccines are fast being used up due to a number of dog bite victims brought to the City Health Office.

Agbulos said that he has to imposed control of the costly anti-rabies vaccines and can give only a partial dose to dog bite patients.

Patients must buy the remaining number of anti-rabies vaccine dials to complete the cure.

Dr. Agbulos said that he cannot afford to give all the needed dosage of anti-rabies vaccine because he has to set aside other vials for other incoming patients. JEA
