Fire razes Isabela market; P60M lost By Jess E. Alcoran
FIRE of still undetermined origin destroyed the Isabela public market early Wednesday morning city reports said.
Sketchy reports said the fire broke out in one of the stores at the public market and quickly spread to other structures in the vicinity.
The fire, which started at 3 a.m. was declared control after an hour by Isabela, Basilan's Bureau of Fire Protection. Fire damages were estimated at P60 million.
The conflagration destroyed a big number of commercial establishments like barter trade goods stores, retail stores and others, fortunately leaving no one injured.
The Isabela public market has been destroyed by fire several times in the past.
