Father kills son

A 22-year old man was stabbed to death by his 50-year old father at 7pm at barangay Tapodoc, Labangan Zamboanga del Sur last Tuesday.
The victim was identified as Melchor Cabasag y Gabayan, a laborer of Tickwas, Dumalinao of the province.
Melchor was stabbed to death by his father identified as Benny Gabayan, also a laborer and a resident of said place with used of a hunting knife.
Melchor sustained stab wound on his body and was brought to the Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Hospital, Pagadian City for medical treatment but was declared dead on arrival by his attending Physician.
Initial investigation disclosed that prior to the incident, victim and his father had just came from the house of their relatives in Barangay Tiguma, Pagadian City.
Later father and son had a heated arguments over the frequent drinking habit of his father after which the father pulled a hunting knife and stabbed his son.
The suspect voluntarily surrendered to Dumalinao Municipal Police Station and later turned over the Labangan Municipal police Station who has jurisdiction of the case proper disposition.
Meanwhile a farmer was also stabbed and wounded by another farmer at Purok III, barangay Boniao, Mahayag Zamboanga del Sur at 3:30 in the afternoon last Thursday.
The victim was identified as Rene Boy Dagpin y vena, 54, a resident of Purok IV, of said place.
Rene was stabbed and wounded by William Eslit Natingor, 31, of nearby Purok II with the used of Hunting knife.
Victim sustained stab wounds on his hand and nape and was brought to Mahayag Disrict Hospital, Mahayag.
Motive of the incident is personal grudge. Responding elements of the Mahayag municipal police station arrested the suspect.
