Fire kills woman

A 70-year-old woman died when her house was destroyed by fire at 10:30 in the morning at Barangay Ticwas, Dumalinao Zamboanga del Sur last Monday.

The house owner was identified as Cecilla Aragon, a resident of the above-mentioned place.

Investigation conducted by the men of the Dumalinao Municipal Police Station revealed that the victim was cooked dinner at the 2nd floor of her home when the gas stove exploded due to over heating that caused the fire.

She was trapped in the house and burned to death along with the burning building.

Elements of Dumalinao Municipal Police Station led by SPO3 Romualdo Bacayong proceeded to the fire scene and called for assistance from the Pagadian City Fire Station.

However, the house was totally razed to the ground considering that it was made of light materials before the firemen can arrive.

Damage to property was placed at more or less 700,000 pesos. (ME)
