Taiwanese shot dead
By Antonet A. Go

AN UNIDENTIFIED gunman shot and killed a Taiwanese businessman as he was about to enter his house at Sto. Nino Village, Barangay Tumaga barangay around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The police identified the victim as one Shasen Pan, 48, married and a resident of the place.

Investigations disclosed that the victim was aboard his Starex Van and was about to drive into his housing compound when shot.

Witnesses said the gunman was riding a motorcycle and shot the victim at close range with a .45 caliber pistol.

The victim sustained two gunshot wounds in his body and arrived at the Western Mindanao Medical Center dead. The police recovered one empty .45 caliber slug at the crime scene.

The victim's wife told the investigator that her husband has been receiving threats since they moved to Davao.

Investigators are inclined to believe that the killing was because of trade rivalry. AG
