Lobregat on Mariano's 'jump' to LDP: they're just kidding
"MAYBE they were just kidding."
This was the statement of City Mayor Maria Clara L. Lobregat on the claims of councilor aspirant Tugbungan barangay chair Eddie Saavedra that City Councilor Charlie Mariano might join the ticket of the Laban ng Demokratikong Pilipino (LDP) in the forthcoming elections.
Saavedra was allegedly interviewed over a local radio station wherein he claimed he was informed by Cong. Celso L. Lobregat that Mariano might join the LDP.
Lobregat said she does not know anything about it and that she never talked with Mariano regarding any political matter.
She said Mariano cannot join them (LDP) as all the positions are already filled up.
Mariano, who is a member of the Lakas-CMD, announced he will run for mayor of the city against Lobregat.
Meanwhile, Lobregat refused to comment on anything happening with LDP's higher ups in Manila, but she emphasized that she and her son, Cong. Celso L. Lobregat, are with the camp of Ping Lacson. JEA
