Its Celso, Erbie, and Beng: FPJ
KOALISYON ng Nagkakaisang Pilipino (KNP) Presidential entrant Fernando Poe Jr. formally endorsed LDP Mayoralty bet Celso Lobregat, Congressional candidate Erbie Fabian, Vice Mayoralty aspirant Beng Climaco and the entire LDP council slate Wednesday night before the 7,000 multitude at Plaza Pershing.
Poe raised the hand of Congressman Lobregat, while Vice Presidential contender Sen. Loren Legarda lifted the hand of Mayor Fabian, and later the whole of the Laban candidates for councilors.
Poe appeared in high spirits after seeing the ocean of the jubilant crowd jam-packed at the historical Plaza.
"We are happy that we got Cong. Celso Lobregat on our side". Poe declared to the roaring crowd who was chanting his name and that of Celso.
Poe said the Zamboanga City sortie is so far the biggest ever crowd convergence ever pilled up by followers in all of his provincial sorties.
"It's quite normal and we already expect to see similar big crowds just like in all of our provincial sorties, but the Zamboanga assembly proved to be enormous and warm," Poe said.
The endorsement happened to be the most controversial since two other candidates in the city; Congressional candidate Manuel Dalipe and Independent mayoralty aspirant Lepeng Wee, both of whom were confident in their public statements that they will get FPJ's endorsement.
Wee even announced in the media that he will get the nomination since he and FPJ has "special arrangements". Similarly, Dalipe in all his press releases featured his photo together with FPJ. Wednesday night however, proved to be a big disappointment for Wee and Dalipe.
Poe emphasized the selection was made on the basis of integrity, track record and accomplishment and good name. Poe said that with Celso Lobregat's proven style of leadership and vision of development, Zamboanga City will definitely see a lot of bright prospects.
Also endorsed by FPJ and Loren Legarda that night were council runners; Mila Velasquez, Asbi Edding, Kim Elago, Rudy Lim, Dodong Deles, Nonong Guingona, Cesar Ituralde, Eddie Rodriguez, Ely Enriquez Eddie Saavedra, Elong Natividad, and Rey Candido. RS
