TWO movie houses face possible closure if they are caught violating the anti-sanitary code of the City Health Office (CHO) despite repeated warnings.
Assistant CHO Carol Carabaña stressed that her office will be forced to take drastic measures against these two local theaters in the wake of recent complaints from their own movie viewers of sex trysts involving prostitutes inside the theaters.
However, Carabaña called on the local police authorities to cooperate with her office in cracking down on these freelance sex workers who are reportedly trading their flesh in side these two movie houses.
"We need the police to take the necessary action so that formal complaint can be filed against them Carabaña said.
She said with a written formal complaints from the police, their office can immediately take the appropriate action including their closure if they ignore continuous warnings like the prohibition of suspected prostitutes both females and males (call-boys) alike and also minors to enter their movie-houses.
She said there is a need for the police the to conduct a regular campaign in coordination with CHO against the increasing number of freelance sex workers in the city to prevent the spread o f sexually transmitted diseases (STDs).
She said these are the ones who do not submit themselves for the required weekly medical check-up at the CHO, adding that those who work as hospitality girls or GROs (Guest Relations Officers) in the city's nightspots are strictly complying with the said requirement, hence they are certified by their office as safe to their customers.
"These are the people who are possible carriers of STDs and therefore should be rounded up by the authorities," Caradaña emphasized.
