Tuesday, July 20, 2004 Army major found dead inside motel By Nelly Martinez
AN ARMY major was found dead and naked inside a motel in Guiwan Saturday, police report said.
The police identified the fatality as a certain Major Leandro Rebong, assigned with the 1st Infantry Division, in Malagutay.
Initial police investigation revealed that prior to finding him lifeless, the military officer was seen with a still unidentified woman checking in, at around 2:25 p.m.
A motel attendant claimed that minutes after the two went inside the room, they saw the woman, rushing out and boarded a motorcycle and left to an undisclosed place.
Failure to suspect anything bad happened, the motel management did not bother to go to the guest's room until the following day, at about 8:00 a.m., when a room boy, who is supposed to clean the room discovered the lifeless body of the military officer.
Tetuan Police Station investigators, who rushed to the motel upon notification, said there were neither contusion nor blood in the victim's body, even as they ruled out the possibility of foul play.
The Tetuan police have placed the case under investigation.
A motel attendant denied an incident occurred in their establishment but the Tetuan Police said this is the second time that such an incident occurred in the same motel.
