Hotel guard shot dead

A SECURITY guard was shot dead Monday morning by an unidentified suspect at the entrance of a pension house at Barcelona Street.

Meanwhile, a room boy of the same pension house was seriously injured when the tricycle he was riding while rushing the victim to the hospital was hit by a passenger jeepney, along Tomas Claudio Extension, this city.

The police identified the slain security guard as Allan Bayo, 34, married, of Baliwasan, assigned with the Nemesis Security Agency and detailed with the Platinum 21 Pension House.

The injured room boy was identified as Roberto Caday, of Sta. Catalina.

Initial investigation disclosed that around 5:30 a.m., Bayo and the unidentified customer was having a heated altercation that led to the shooting.

The unidentified gunman fled to an unknown direction after the incident.

Bayo sustained two gunshot wounds in the chest and was rushed by Caday to the Zamboanga City Medical Center on board a tricycle driven by Mateo Teves, 24, married, of San Roque.

Unfortunately, their vehicle was hit by a speeding Putik passenger jeepney, in front of the History Karaoke Bar, at Tomas Claudio Extension, which is a one-way-street.

Caday sustained a broken left leg and was rushed to the said hospital together with Bayo.

Bayo was declared dead on arrival by attending physicians.

The police have launched manhunt operations against the gunman and the passenger jeepney.
