| Two Muslim students of Balindong National High School, Lanao del Sur, examine a model of organ system during their science class. The model is part of the science laboratory equipment donated by former envoy to Germany, Ambassador Bienvenido Tan, Jr., and his foundation the Elena Tan Foundation, through the Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP). The assistance aims to improve the performance of 803 Muslim students in science as well as enhance teacher's competencies in teaching science subjects with use of basic laboratory tools. (PBSP) |

THE Philippines' largest Muslim separatist rebel group, Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), expressed serious concern Sunday that any attempt to oust President Gloria Arroyo, accused by the opposition of poll fraud, could affect its ongoing peace talks with the government.
Allegations of illegal gambling pay-off to Arroyo's husband, son and brother-in-law and charges that she rigged last year's elections have fueled coup rumors in Manila, and Arroyo, who denied the accusations, has placed military and police forces on alert.
