Palace keeps cool over SWS satisfaction rating

Despite the recent SWS satisfaction rating of President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, she remains unruffled and instead puts her focused on what she can deliver on a day to day basis to the people in terms of social services, jobs and enterprise.

President Arroyo's net satisfaction rating dropped to negative 30 percent in December from negative 23 percent in September in the latest survey of Social Weather Stations (SWS).

"We can appreciate the residual political noise that is keeping the ratings down, but there is no way to go but up as a rising economy and improving political stability buck the trend," her aide Secretary Ignacio Bunye said.

The presidential spokesman emphasized that national confidence is high despite the survey results, which do not in any way create jobs, attract foreign investments, and certainly do not create wealth.

"With our positive gains amid ebbing political storms, we are confident that public sentiments will turn for the better in the near future," Bunye said. (PIA)
