Zambo has sufficient meat supply: official
ZAMBOANGA City is assured of sufficient meat supply, especially chicken products, this Christmas season.
City Veterinarian Mario Ariola said this, as he stressed that Zamboanga supplies its own needs for chicken meat.
"Our supplies for chicken will not be a problem," Ariola declared.
Due to the numerous chicken raisers in Zamboanga City, the entry of frozen or chilled chicken to the city has markedly decreased, he said.
On the other hand, 50 percent of livestock products come from the neighboring provinces of Zamboanga del Sur and Zamboanga Sibugay.
But he said he does not foresee any shortage of livestock meat products this yuletide season due to the sufficient supply.
However, he assured that proper agencies such as the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Agriculture (DA), and his office will be monitoring the meat supply and its prices this Christmas.
