Ranes and Garate took their oath last January 6, at the Multi-purpose Center in Camp Crame.

Garate is the concurrent provincial director of the Provincial Internal Affairs Services (PIAS), which is the investigative arm of the police, while Ranes is the concurrent deputy provincial director of the Zamboanga del Norte Police Provincial Office (ZNPPO) based in Camp Hamac, Sicayab, Dipolog City.

The two newly promoted senior police officers, who are presidential appointees, will soon be elevated to regional posts in the Regional Police Office 9 based in Mercedez, Zamboanga City.

Garate and Ranes are graduates of master's degree courses, PNP Officers Executive Course (Osec), Management, coordinated by Asian Institute of Management (AIM), and Law Enforcement Training at the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in February 2004 at Los Angeles, California, USA. (TMO)
