Zambo eco-zone builds power sub-station

THE Zamboanga City Special Economic Zone and Freeport Authority is undertaking the construction of a power sub-station to ensure better service and convenience to business enterprises located in the economic zone.
Zone chair and administrator Georgina Yu said a five mega-volt amperes (5MVA) power sub-station will be built in the first industrial park located in the village of San Ramon.
Yu said the construction of the power sub-station is in anticipation of the problem of power shortage that the city might be facing as the power requirement of the city continues to increase.
She said the construction will be undertaken by Power Dimensions Incorporated, which she describes as one of the well-experienced companies in building power systems in the country.
"There was no truth to the allegations that the zone is not doing anything about its power interruption problem. It has been addressed since the day one of this year," Yu said.
She said her office has also made an arrangement with the National Transmission Corporation (Transco) for additional power supply line for the Ecozone.
Electric posts had already been placed leading to the zone area in the west coast, Yu added.
