Sunday, October 15, 2006 Jobs fair, livelihood training slated for Wesmincom troops By Bong Garcia
LT. COLONEL Susthenes Valcorza, chief of the military’s 4th Civil Relation Group, on Saturday announced that the Department of National Defense (DND) will conduct jobs fair and livelihood training next month at the Western Mindanao Command (Wesmincom).
Valcorza said the beneficiaries will be the personnel assigned in Wesmincom, dependents of soldiers killed in action, retired personnel who wish to join the organic personnel in the unit.
He said the jobs fair and livelihood training is part of the government’s program aimed to train, educate soldiers, their dependents and retired military personnel to be more productive and dynamic.
He said the program will be of great help to all the beneficiaries as they will be trained to earned additional income.
“Retired soldiers will still be productive based on what they would learn in the livelihood training,” Valcorza added.
Several soldiers who retired from the military service have been staying in this city as they decided to settle here after their retirement.
Personnel from the DND are coming for the scheduled activity, the exact of which will be announced later.
