Bangus hatchery to rise in Zambo
By Bong Garcia

ZAMBOANGA State Colleges of Marine Sciences and Technology (ZSCMST) president Ernesto Caraecle said he is planning to put up a bangus hatchery for the region in Zamboanga City.

Caraecle said there is a need to establish a bangus hatchery to supply the needs of fishpond owners who have been dependent on other regions for their supply of bangus fry for fish production.

He said they already have the breeder needed for the production of bangus fry once a hatchery is established in this city.

Caraecle plans to adopt new technologies used by other regions in the production of bangus to ensure a high yield.

The school official has sought the help of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (Bfar) to realize his plan.
