Sunday, March 11, 2007 Sinubong folks euphoric over medical mission
"THIS is the biggest medical outreach mission extended to the residents of Sinubong so far."
Thus, said Ramon Soler, Sinubong barangay chairman, as some 500 barangay folks availed of the city government initiated medical outreach mission in the area Friday.
Soler expressed appreciation to the city's health team led by City Health Officer Rodel Agbulos and to Mayor Celso Lobregat for identifying Sinubong as one of the barangays to benefit from the city's continuous outreach missions.
Soler said the city's health team has brought sufficient medicines, more than enough for all patients who sought medical and dental assistance. "Bueno kay el local government unit ya ase este para servi conel maga residente (It's good that the city government initiated this for the benefit of the residents)."
Mayor Lobregat himself motored to Sinubong yesterday to oversee the civic action undertaken by the Agbulos' health team that included personnel from the offices of the City Veterinarian and the City Agriculturist.
Aside from the free medical consultations, medicines and dental services, animals were also vaccinated with anti-rabies doses courtesy of the City Veterinary and farmers were also given training on new farming technologies courtesy of the Office of the City Agriculturist. The fumigation team of the CHO also conducted fogging activities in suspected breeding areas of the dengue carrier mosquitoes.
On the other hand, Soler highly praised Mayor Lobregat for all the efforts undertaken for the interest and welfare of the local residents.
He described the mayor as the most hardworking mayor he has ever worked with during his term as the chief of barangay Sinubong.
Meanwhile, the Sinubong medical-dental outreach mission yesterday was the 8th since January. Similar activities are expected to be held in other in the coming weeks in line with the city's thrust on the delivery of health services. (SE)
