More Zambo politicians join mayoralty, congressional race
By Bong Garcia

A FOUR-cornered and three-cornered fights loom in the second congressional districts and the mayoralty race, respectively, in this city.

This assessment came after the local Kampi party has announced the entry of former Vice-Mayor Susan Delos Reyes into the party as the second congressional district bet.

Local Kampi mayoralty bet and chairman former priest Crisanto Dela Cruz said Delos Reyes replaced Councilor Jose Manuel Dalipe Jr., who decided to run as an independent candidate for this city's second congressional district.

Delos Reyes, who is a lawyer and businesswoman, has served as this city's vice mayor from 1986 to 1987.

Aside from Delos Reyes and Dalipe, the other two second congressional district candidates are incumbent congressman Erico Basilio Fabian and Francisco Inesando, a newcomer in this city's political arena.

As to the mayoralty race, businessman Lepeng Wee said he will announce on March 20 whether or not to run for mayor.

Wee said he is conducting consultations with his supporters and followers who are clamoring for him to join the mayoralty race.

Aside from Wee and Dela Cruz, incumbent Mayor Celso Lobregat is seeking re-election, making the mayoralty race a three-cornered fight.
