Wednesday, March 21, 2007 DOST offers MS scholarship grants
THE Department of Science and Technology (DOST) announced the availability of scholarships this school year for Master in Science (MS) degrees in priority areas in science and technology.
The scholarships are being offered through DOST's Science Education Institute (SEI).
The program aims to train high level human resources needed for S&T activities in the microelectronics, semi-conductor, and biotechnology industry sectors who will contribute to the country's global competitiveness and economic development and upgrade the capability in the priority areas of research and technological innovation.
There are two types of scholarships available:
a) Straight BS-MS Program (5 years) - this is open to ongoing and graduating DOST-SEI scholars in any of the basic or engineering sciences
b) Regular MS Program (2 years) - this is intended for BS scholar-graduates of any of the DOST-SEI Undergraduate Scholarship programs.
