E-Learning Center offers IT training on Free, Open Source Software programs

E-LEARNING Centre Inc. and Gooey Software Developers, in partnership with International Open Source Network ASEAN+3 Regional Node, is inviting interested participants to the their upcoming IT training dubbed as "Learn Lamp" (Linux Apache MySQL and PHP) in 24 Hours."

The acronym "Lamp" refers to a solution stack of Free and Open Source Software programs, used together to run dynamic websites and servers: LINUX as the Operating System (OS); Apache as the Web Server; MySQL as the DataBase; and PHP as the Scripting Language.

The combination of these technologies is used primarily to define a web server infrastructure, define a programming paradigm of developing software, and establish a software distribution package.

The instructors for this training are internationally certified and experienced developers of Zamboanga City who have deployed projects using the "Lamp solution." They have also undergone formal Linux trainers' training under the sponsorship of International Open Source Network and Inwent Germany.

Training details are as follows: Date: April 23 to May 2, 2007; Time: 5:00 p.m. to 8 p.m. Registration Fee is pegged at Php 2,800 for the first five registrants; Regular rate is Php 3,000.

The training package is inclusive of: Installation CD, Training Manual, Fully air-conditioned room, Individual PC assignment.

The venue is at E-Learning Centre Inc., 3rd Floor, ZGU Bldg., Gov. Alvarez St., Zamboanga City.
