Troops arrest 3 Abu Sayyaf suspects in Sulu
Most mountains in Sulu, as shown in the photo, are still fertile and are covered with trees. However, people could not fully utilize the jungles since they are also havens of Abu Sayyaf bandits who are continuously pursued by government troops. (Sunnex/Bong Garcia)
GOVERNMENT forces stormed a safe house Thursday evening and apprehended three persons believed to be members of the al Qaeda-linked Abu Sayyaf bandits in the island province of Sulu.

Lieutenant Colonel Bartolome Bacarro, information officer of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), said the raiding team also seized four high-powered firearms during the raid.
