Troops kill Abu Sayyaf bandit in Basilan

TROOPS from the Special Forces of the Philippine Army killed an alleged Abu Sayyaf bandit in a clash in the nearby island province of Basilan, where offensive operation continues against the bandits.

The Western Mindanao Command (Westmincom) reported that the troops were on security patrol when they chanced upon a group of Abu Sayyaf bandits in the hinterland of Lantawan last Wednesday.
