The housing site is adjacent to the one-hectare property that the Telof hierarchy donated to the City Government of Zamboanga for the establishment of the Talon-talon National High School.

DOTC Assistant Secretary Lorenzo Formozo III joined Mayor Lobregat in unveiling the project and distributed the lot certificates to the beneficiaries.

The ceremony took place at the Housing Project site.

The implementation of the housing project is being done in coordination with the City Land Housing and Management Division under the Office of the Mayor.

The beneficiaries of the program are families of mostly retired Telof employees in Zamboanga City.

Mayor Lobregat is grateful that different agencies and organizations—both public and private are coming in to assist the city government in its housing and resettlement project.

Just recently, the mayor together with the Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation (RCBC) and the Gawad Kalinga led in the groundbreaking of a P1-million housing project dubbed as the RCBC-GK Village in Tulungatung.

The project covers the construction of 18 houses with funding coming from the RCBC. The construction will be supervised by the Church-based Gawad Kalinga using the bayanihan scheme.

The Tulungatung resettlement project is one of the programs of the city government under the Lobregat administration. (Sheila E. Covarrubias)
