S&T thesis and dissertation search on
THE Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Council for Advanced Science and Technology Research and Development (DOST-PCASTRD) announces the search for 2008 Outstanding Thesis and Dissertation in Advanced Science and Technology (S&T).
The awards are given in recognition of scholarly work, which contributes significantly to S&T knowledge to be applied for the development of the country.

The search is open to all MS and PhD graduates in the following areas: biology and related fields (MBB, biotechnology, genetics, molecular biology, microbiology), chemistry/biochemistry, physics, mathematics, statistics, computer science/information technology, earth science/remote sensing/space technology applications, materials science, microelectronics.
The cash prizes are as follows: Outstanding Thesis - Grand winner- P75,000; Outstanding Dissertation - Grand winner- P100,000; Advisers - P30,000 for Thesis category and P50,000 for Dissertation.
Winner per area is P50,000 and P60,000. For advisers, its P15,000 and P25,000.
The general guidelines, criteria for the selection of winners and nomination forms for the said awards may be viewed/downloaded at the PCASTRD website at http://www.pcastrd.dost.gov.ph.
Accomplished forms may be submitted at DOST Western Mindanao, Regional Office at Pettit Barracks, Zamboanga City. Deadline for submission of entries is on July 25, 2008. (Press release)
