MOTORCYCLE-riding gunmen have held-up and robbed a Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) dealer of more than P200,000 in the province of Zamboanga Sibugay, the police reported Wednesday.
A report reaching the Zamboanga Peninsula Police Office (ZPPO) said the incident occurred around 7 p.m. Sunday in the village of Poblacion, Ipil, the capital of Zamboanga Sibugay.
Divested at gunpoint of cash and valuables was Bituin Bahamonde, the proprietor of AL Gonzales establishment that deals in LPG product in the town of Ipil.
The report said Bahamonde was on his way home aboard a motorcycle for hire, locally known as habal-habal, driven by Rolando Manlapaz when two men riding tandem on another motorcycle got abreast and ordered the driver at gunpoint to pull over the side of the road.
The suspects forcibly took Bahamonde's shoulder bag containing P200,000 in cash representing the store's day collection and P40,000 worth of other belongings including a cellular telephone.
The suspects fled to unknown direction aboard a motorcycle with registered plate number MC-1019.
Investigation is underway to unmask the suspects' identities, according to the ZPPO report. (Bong Garcia)
