Senior Superintendent Mario Yanga, ZCPO officer in charge, said kidnapping groups might strike again anytime soon unless their modus operandi is made public.

A reinvestigation, he said, would reveal the group's possible techniques in taking their victims.

At least three kidnapping incidents took place in Zamboanga City this year, Yanga said. He added that all the victims were reportedly brought to the province of Basilan.

Two of the victims, a businessman and a nurse, were already released while Joed Pilanga, a nursing student who was kidnapped in October his year, remains in captivity.

Pilanga's kidnappers are reportedly demanding P20 million for the release of the victim. (Bong Garcia)
