Sayyafs set ransom for Fil-Chinese captive
By Bong Garcia

THE Al Queda-linked Abu Sayyaf terrorists have already demanded ransom for the release of a Filipino-Chinese businessman they held captive recently in Sulu province, a military official said Monday.

First Lieutenant Steffanie Cacho, information officer of the Western Mindanao Command (Westmincom), however refused to disclose the amount of ransom demand by the terrorist group saying they are receiving different versions of the demand.

The victim, Xili Wu, 28, alias Peter Go, from Chinese province of Fujian was seized last December 13 in downtown Jolo, Sulu.

Military and police authorities strongly believed that Wu was seized by the group of Al-Bader Parad, one of the mid-level Abu Sayyaf leaders based in the island province.

Wu who is barely a year in Jolo is one of the five owners of Perlas Trading.

Cacho said the military's efforts continue to recover Wu from the hands of the Abu Sayyaf bandits.

Chief Superintendent Felizardo Serapio, Jr., Directorate for Integrated Police Office-east (DIPO-east) alleged that the family of Wu doesn't cooperate with the authorities.
