Web advertising is new in the Philippines.

Compared to traditional advertising that has been here for over 50 years, Internet advertising is only about nine years old. But Internet advertising is providing communities with an alternative.

On the Internet, your ads can be accessed instantly and from anywhere in the world. Your ads can also be interactive, with potential customers able to contact you through one click on their mouse to bring them to your own website or e-mail address.

The Sun.Star website offers advertising packages to suit advertisers’ needs.

The usual advertising tools are the banner, square or medallion, button and link. It has a Classified Power Ads section for a variety of other advertisements. One can choose where to place an advertisement from the different prime locations on the Sun.Star website.

Banner

* Standard dimension size of 468 pixels x 60 pixels in graphic interlaced format (GIF) or JPEG
* File size of not more than 20 kilobytes for easy downloading
* Placed at either the top or bottom of any page
* Linked to the advertiser's web site or designated web page

Banners can be placed in all pages of the web site. The network page top banner is prime advertising space in our web site as it is located beside the Sun.Star Network Online logo and is viewed primarily by the visitor.

Medallion

* Standard dimension size of 125 pixels x 125 pixels in graphic interlaced format (GIF) or JPEG
* File size of not more than 12 kilobytes
* Placed at either the left or right panel of any page
* Linked to the advertiser's web site or designated web page

A medallion ad is viewed when the visitor scrolls down and views the content of the page.

Skyscraper

* Sandard dimension size of 120 pixels x 600 pixels in graphic interlaced format (GIF) of jpeg
* File size of not more than 20 kilobytes
* Placed either on the left or right panel of the affiliate's pages
* Linked to the advertiser’s website or designated web page, or to an e-mail address of the advertiser

Skyscrapers can deliver an advertiser’s message toward a bigger impact with a size that’s 78% larger than normal banner ads. The skyscraper’s 600-pixel height extends far down the page, which means site visitors continue to see the ad as they scroll down. Their right or left-hand column placement, near the navigation bar, attracts eyeballs as users navigate through the site.
