Suspect in shooting arrested

CAMP KANGLEON, Palo — The Tacloban City Police nabbed a mall security guard tagged as suspect in a shooting incident.
The suspect was identified as Archie Acebo Riel of Barangay 62, Sagkahan, Tacloban City.
Police said the suspect was on duty at the mall’s Appliance Center on June 18, 2012 when he had a heated argument with the victim identified as Leo Salogaol, 26, a salesman and a resident of Barangay Talalora, Tanauan, Leyte.
The victim was about to go out from the establishment, when frisked by the suspect prompting the former him to punch the latter’s face.
The suspect pulled out his issued caliber .38 revolver and shot the victim twice on the chest.
The victim was immediately rushed to Bethany Hospital but was pronounced dead after hours of treatment.
The suspect was brought to Police Station 1, Marasbaras, Tacloban City. Confiscated from him was the issued caliber .38 Armscor Revolver containing two live ammos and two empty shells.
A case was filed before the suspect charging him for homicide before the Regional Trial Court of Tacloban City. (Leyte Samar Daily Express)
