AN WARAY Representative Florencio Noel said they are now finalizing the party’s line-up of candidates for the 2013 elections.
He said “all opposition members will be united.”
“We will be in one solid group,” said Noel, who earlier expressed interest in running for mayor of Tacloban City.
Although the lawmaker did not categorically said who his running mate will be in the next year’s elections, he said, “We will make a way that both (Vice Mayor) Arvin (Antoni) and (Councilor) Jerry (Yaokasin) will be in the same team.”
Antoni is on his second term as vice mayor of the city, while Yaokasin is on his last term as city councilor.
Antoni defeated former mayor Alfredo Romualdez, while Yaokasin became the number one councilor that used to be occupied by the former city mayor’s wife, Councilor Cristina Romualdez, in the 2007 local elections.
Aside from Antoni and Yaokasin, the line-up includes incumbent Councilors Neil Glova and Jerry Uy, former city councilor Rindo Lagonoy, former Leyte first district board member Evangeline Esperas, Dindi Abella, Jomar Bagulaya and village chief Rudy Calabria.
Noel said there are still others who wanted to join their team but he said they are still studying it.
“We must agree that in our team; it must be composed of people who are really from Tacloban, with heart for Tacloban and who can help solve the problem of the city,” Noel said. (Leyte Samar Daily Express)
