Police director salutes awardees

CATBALOGAN CITY — The newly installed regional director of the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Eastern Visayas awarded some police officers last Monday.
PRO 8 Director Chief Superintendent Elmer Soria gave the awards during his visit to the Samar Police Provincial Office (PPO) in Catbalogan City. The awarding was held at the PNP Provincial Headquarters.
The first “Medalya ng Papuri” award was given to Chief Inspector Marvin Ordonia for his exemplary performance during a manhunt operation on May 22, 2012 at Dasmariñas City, Cavite, which resulted in the arrest of Noli Fornillos.
Fornillos, number three most wanted person in Calbiga, Samar, was accused of the crimes of two counts of rape and three counts of acts of lasciviousness.
An award was also given to Senior Inspector Rodelio Quinto for his commendable performance during the conduct of manhunt operation on June 08, 2012, at Talalora, Samar, which resulted in the arrest of number two most wanted person Jun-jun Arbalate for the crime of murder.
Senior Police Officer 1 Gaudencio Rueda and Police Officer 3 Salvador Suarez were also awarded.
Rueda helped in a manhunt operation on March 08, 2012 at Barangay Mercado, Villareal, arresting the number four most wanted person in Sta. Rita, Samar, Celfred Papuran, for the crime of rape.
Suarez, meanwhile, was awarded for the arrest of Warlito Mabingay, the number seven most wanted person in Motiong, for the crime of attempted murder.
“All this accomplishments have remarkably contributed to the maintenance of peace and order in Eastern Visayas,” Soria said. (Leyte Samar Daily Express)
