TO RELIVE the spirit of Edsa Revolution, the Edsa People Power Commission (EPPC) held an orientation forum and oath-taking for its Leyte Provincial Council at the LNU Conference Hall last September 26.
EPPC, which was created through Executive Order 82 (S.1999) under the office of the President, seeks to organize sustainable project advocating new rendition of People Power -- void of tanks, guns, and rallies against the government but with new depictions of bayanihan, volunteerism, and other sectors in the community towards the shared goal of nation-building.
“People power lives on and is passed from one generation to the next through the ordinariness of our day-to-day living. We are the reason behind Edsa People Power,” said Reji Paul Tañada, EPPC project officer.
Tañada administered the oath-taking and accepted the proposed programs and projects of the EPPC-Leyte Provincial council and the students’ council.
He also made a video presentation and orientation of the EPPC while EPPC-Leyte Provincial Council Board of Director Dr. Dominador Aguirre Jr. and vice chairman Dr. Ibarra Maximino Villarino presented the proposed programs and projects of EPPC students councils and EPPC-Leyte vision, objective and programs, respectively.
Wilson Uy of the provincial council welcomed the participants to the forum. He said “the teaching and lessons learned in Edsa should be a shared goal in nation building through organization of sustainable projects.”
The undertaking was organized by Engr. Billy Roseño, secretary general of the EPPC-Leyte Provincial Council. (Leyte Samar Daily Express)
