THE Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) was adjudged as model among government agencies under the Office of the President, based on its performance indicators and targets for the fiscal year of 2012.
PDEA Director General Undersecretary Jose S. Gutierrez Jr. said the agency has met the good governance conditions set forth by Administrative Order 25, an Inter-Agency Task Force on the Harmonization of National Government Performance Monitoring, Information and Reporting Systems headed by the Department of Budget and Management (DBM).
PDEA was assessed by the task force, based on quantity, quality and timeliness in the delivery of government service to the public, thereby promoting the bureaucratic principles and practices of the Anti-Red Tape Act.
PDEA also complied with the initial requirements in cascading its overall targets and commitments to the inter-agency task force, qualifying the Agency for the granting of the annual Performance Based Bonus, or PBB, among government agencies.
Gutierrez said the PBB is a performance-based incentive system for all government institutions to strengthen good governance and public accountability in the performance of their respective mandates. (Leyte Samar Daily Express)
