A NEW Computerized Examination (Comex) system will soon be implemented in May 2013 by the Civil Service Commission-Eastern Visayas (CSC-8).
Lawyer Raymond Gonzales, CSC regional director, said three regions: National Capital Region (NCR), Calabarzon (Region IV-A) and Eastern Visayas (Region 8) were chosen to pilot the new testing system.
“We are preparing for the pilot testing and we are acquiring 21 computer sets for the new system’s implementation. The exams will be offered at the CSC regional office,” Gonzales said.
The Comex system, which will replace the erstwhile Computer-Assisted Test (CAT) examination system, is the computerized version of the Paper-Pencil-Test (PPT) examination being offered by the CSC. Registration for the examination may be made online.
“Comex is a full-proof examination aimed at giving integrity to the exam administered by CSC. It will also fast track the acceptance of CSC exam applications, conduct of tests, and scoring and generation of test results,” Gonzales added.
“Those who want to take the Comex, they will have to go online and reserve a date where they could bring their requirements personally. The date and exact time of examination will be sent through e-mail,” Gonzales said.
“Just like the CAT system, the examinees may apply for the tests anytime and get the results and hour after taking the exam,” Gonzales said.
“As part of the ground works, we are looking at designating a computer room as examination area here at the regional office,” Gonzales added. (Leyte Samar Daily Express)
