Samar mayor pushes tourism development-A A +A

SAN JOSE DE BUAN, Samar – Mayor Aninias Rebato is looking to intensify the promotion of this town as a tourist destination as he mapped out a “marketing strategy” to attract tourists.
This as he created a team composed of barangay and municipal officials intended solely in promoting some tourism areas in town.
San Jose de Buan boasts several tourist attractions as it is famous for its lakes, rivers, waterfalls, caves and the highest mountain in the province, the Mt Huraw.
Mt. Huraw is also renowned for its pristine wilderness, rugged mountains, spectacular landscapes, and it’s fascinating animals and plants, inspired `Buananon’s to lobby for its conservation as a national park.
The development of Mt. Huraw as a tourist destination followed by the ongoing road construction of the Payapa at Masaganang Pamayanan (Pamana) project, according to Mayor Rebato is part of the efforts to showcase the town’s tourism and investment potential.
“It is magnificent and the people must know about it and enjoy it,” Rebato said.
Possible recreational opportunities in Mt. Huraw area includes the bushwalking, canoeing, rock climbing, nature study, among others.
Meanwhile, Mayor Ananias Rebato expressed gratitude to the 87th Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army and the police for rendering service, in protecting the lives and property of the people of his town and in the preservation of the general peace and good order of the community.
