THE Tacloban City Police Office (TCPO) has readied security measures for the upcoming State Colleges and Universities Athletic Association (SCUAA) 2013 this October 24-26.
The TCPO would undertake public safety and assistance to the public during the entire event.
“We will deploy at least 20 personnel a day to the identified billeting areas and two personnel in every sporting event,” said TCPO chief of operations Elmer Jabinar, in an interview.
Jabinar added that they would also include a mobile patrol unit which would be prepositioned at the corner of Paterno St. and Ninoy Aquino Ave.
An advance command post (ACP) would also be placed inside the Leyte Sports Development Center.
“The ACP is intended for an immediate response into any crime or problems that is related to the event,” Jabinar added.
The office will also deploy personnel that would support the Traffic Operations, Management, Enforcement and Control Office during the SCUAA parade that is set on October 22.
“The Paterno St., Sta. Cruz St. and Ninoy Aquino Ave. shall be closed to traffic if the area shall be crowded by the parking cars during the event,” Jabinar said. (Leyte Samar Daily Express)
