Lawrence Ypil dog-ears in the wrong notebook

IN the vein of things coming into fruition through stages, coming into shape through glimpses: an arm first, and then face, and then the hair with which one sees a stranger turn and walk away, I saw a film once, but not only until a heard had passed before I had first heard it.

Check out Google, and you’d find there are actually several ways how people pronounce this French car name, depending on what region they’re from. Some call it “pew-zjoe” while others go for a more British sounding “per-zjoe.”

A FEW weeks ago when I had a workshop on post processing in Melbourne, many of the students were baffled with Adobe’s Creative Cloud. They wanted to buy the box application but it seems that Adobe is not selling it anymore and instead sells subscription. How confusing is that plus the fact that you don’t have hard ownership of the software?

HARVEY Tolibao’s earliest encounters with the world of comic books were from his grandmother’s collection, sacks upon sacks filled with all kinds of local publications. Quijano: Thoughts on fire

Sunday, June 2, 2013 - 07:26 p.m.

Aileen Quijano Bottoms up

WHERE there’s smoke, there’s fire. The thought flashed into my head as I was drying my hair in the bedroom. Before I could carelessly brush it off, I heard the shouts of warning, “Sunog! (Fire!)” With hair slightly dripping, I looked outside the window and there it was – a big ball of orange fire licking at trees and neighboring houses right across the street. I stood there for a moment, mesmerized by its passion – just like an angry woman spitting fire through the thick walls of her delinquent partner’s head.
