Pawpalooza Pet Festival at BTC

HUNDREDS of pets and pet owners in all shapes and sizes trooped to Pawpalooza Pet Festival 2012 recently at the Banilad Town Centre, a pet-friendly mall since it opened in 2005. An exhibit entitled “Pawsonalities” was unveiled featuring “fur babies” and their loving humans, as photographed by Banana Babies and printed by Royal Pictures.Cebu personalities and pet advocates honored were Liloan Mayor Duke and Atty. Christina Frasco, businessman and event promoter Paolo Mendoza, film producer Beverly Tañedo, model/frisbee player/yoga enthusiast Darleen Hopkirk, Cebu City Veterinarian Dr. Alice Utlang, Businesswoman Ronna Rojas, theater actor and sales professional Lord Latonio, U.S. Immigration Attorney and Island Rescue Organization (IRO) founder Nena Hernandez, registered nurse and fashion stylist Andre Dedamo and writer and biologist Jude Bacalso. Hundreds of dogs benefited from the free anti-rabies vaccination, deworming and grooming services conducted by The Cebu City Department of Veterinary Medicine.Other activities included the launch of the Philippine Dogs Athletic Association, a dog walk, agility demonstration, a talk on “Training the Companion Dog” by professional dog behaviorist Jojo Isorena and Canine Life and Social Skills instructor and evaluator Elsie Araneta, who both flew in from Manila for the event. A fashion show organized by the Shih Tzu Club of Cebu capped the festivities. (PR)
