IT was only befitting that some of Cebu’s top government officials were distinguished guests at the inauguration of Politics Cafe and Public House in Escario Central.
Business owners Duke Frasco, Christina Garcia Frasco and Jay Chiongbian hosted friends, including politicians and some of Cebu’s elite social circle, at one of the area’s most popular new spots for food, drink, and discussions, located just a few blocks away from the Capitol Building.
After the ribbon cutting and blessing of the space, guests were served some of the best items on the menu with their signature politically-driven names: Fresh Term oysters from Lilo-an, Saigon Chicken Banh Mi, Political Outburst Jalapeño Poppers, Red Shirts Thai Spring Rolls, and Carter’s Chicken Cordon Balls.
The flavorful nibbles and conversations were complemented with 2011 French wines, Kressman Bordeaux Blanc Demi Sec Grande Reserve and Esprit Serame Cabernet Sauvignon Rouge. Just like the establishment and its regular patrons, the occasion was sophisticated but not uptight, and always lively.
