PATIENCE is a virtue, so is writing; Writing is tough, so as gathering data. It takes a lot of dedication and perseverance to accomplish one's task. Writing doesn't matter on what beat you're in, writing takes a whole-hearted commitment.
To be exposed in different fields of journalism is a pleasure. To work with different media personalities is a once-in-a-lifetime chance. To learn new things day by day, it's worth treasuring for.
I've seen myself struggling day by day - going to press cons then writing news stories after. It seems like I'm adapting it as my daily routine. Given a bunch of tasks per day is like having adrenaline rush on every consumed hour, just to meet the deadline.
Experience is the best teacher, but I often ask myself is this experience enough? Our mentor has been an integrated part of our learning experience each day, Sir RJ Lumawag. His down-to-earth personality amazes us. He deserves to be called "Sir" instead of "Kuya".
I'm not a good writer nor a good listener but instead of criticizing my weakness, he gave me a helping hand. He keeps in touch with us and update us with our progress to ensure we do well in our job.
A mentor is a guiding light but a follower should also distinguish a light trying to align him on the right track. My first week was tough and I bet the coming weeks will be more tougher than I could imagine. New media friends to meet, new adjustments, improvements, learningsraising to the nth power and tasks that will surely measure our dedication and hard work.
Internship is way of molding our crafts into a better and bolder one. It serves as our preparation to a tougher life in the real world.
