ON ITS fourth year, the Philippine Women's College of Davao's Helena Z. Benitez School of Fine Arts and Culture honored outstanding students in Interior Design, Fashion Design, Industrial Design, Visual Communication and Painting in its Annual Art & Design Awards.
Last March 21, over a hundred guests, faculty, parents and students led by Program Chair Brenda Barba partied at the 9th floor of the Royal Mandaya Hotel for the annual gathering.
Alumni Aztec Barba and Stella Estremera alongside with National Commission for Culture and the Arts' (NCCA's) Norman Narciso and United Architects of the Philippines' (UAP's) Archt. Jean Marie Juanga shared their thoughts on the role of the artists and designers in the world's creative economy.
To reinforce the efforts of the Fine Arts Program to produce the Best Rising and Enterprising Newbies in Design and the Arts, a memorandum of agreement between the PWC of Davao and the Fashion Institute of Design and the Arts was formally inked by AVP for Academics Dr. Ida Yap-Patron and FIDA President Christine Munda.
The PWC Executive Committee was also present to lend support and appreciation to student awardees and their parents. VP/COO Amelia Bonifacio together with AVP for Academics Dr. Ida Yap-Patron, TED Dean Dr. Lourdes Cabintoy and Director Emilie Dalisay graced the affair.
